LightSail Energy awarded grant by the California Energy Commission
Grant aimed at demonstrating the operation of a microgrid including solar PV and LightSail Energy compressed air energy storage system.Berkeley, CA – May 3, 2013 –
LightSail Energy announced today that it has been awarded a grant by the California Energy Commission to demonstrate the use of its novel compressed air energy storage technology to support a microgrid operating with solar PV. For this project, LightSail Energy partnered with Foresight Renewables Solutions and the Naval Base at Ventura County. The grant is provided as part of the CEC PIER program on ‘Community-Scale Renewable Energy Development, Deployment and Integration’.
